I am sorry sir, but the truth of the matter is that many meteorologists knew that this hurricane was coming, and that it was going to be bad. This fact is moot if there is no FEMA or Red Cross to get the people in danger out of there.

I present this article as an example of our countries masterful handling of this disaster.

And also were the hell are we going to get the money to rebuild new orleans?!

I believe Katrina wrecked only New Orleans. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Actually, it was most of lower mississippi. Include Gulfport, and Buloxi (spelling may or may not be correct). It also affected lower Louisianna and Alabama. New Orleans was just what most people would consider the "major" part of the disaster. But of course we all know, everyone will be affected, directly or indirectly from this event. We have seen this with gas prices.

Dang Lousiana, why didn't you evacuate when you were told to?

Bah anyone judging this disaster based on gas prices is heartless. Aside from the fact that there are blaring problems with our current government's ability to handle these, and elect people eligable for important positions. *COUGH* Fema *COUGH*

Very true, I don't see this country emerging from it's national debt anytime in the forseeable future.

Its a tragic decision really.
Less new orleans=less debt.
More new orleans=more debt.

These kind of decisions really tug at the ol heart strings.

With the lack of that port, others will be used. Its not like we dont have enough capacity for all these ships.

Exactly, why rebuild a port if there are so many other ports?

Eh, someone saying someone is acting like an 8th grader when they are doing so themselves?

Isn't hypocrasy fun kids?

Anyway, I think all the news about the hurricane is far from over, last time I checked we're still in the blame game stage...And I do think they'll rebuild it at some point or another, give it another 100 years and we'll see
